As my regular readers may remember from previous photos I've shared on this blog, our family visited Bryce Canyon National Park last month. Today, I'm sharing a few more photos from our visit.
After enjoying the magnificent views at Bryce Point, we passed by this beautiful Steller's Jay on our way back to our car. The Jay apparently was ready for its photo to be taken, as it stayed perched on this branch for a surprising amount of time while several people (myself included) gathered around to take its picture.
After a few moments of the attention however, the Jay hopped further into the branches of the tree.

Great shots, I love the brilliant deep color of the bird and his cheeky demeanor.
ReplyDeleteHi Yogi,
DeleteThank you! Yes, that Jay was quite a beautiful blue color.
Thanks for stopping by!
What a beautiful Steller's Jay! I don't see this kind of bird here!
ReplyDeleteThank you Icy BC! Sadly, I haven't seen them in our area either.
DeleteSplendid bird - and it makes a change for a bird to move into a better position!

Thank you Stewart!
DeleteI love these pictures of your Steller's Jay Jana. He's a beautiful bird and you took great photos. The last time I saw one of these was on a trip to California years ago. Always exciting to see a new bird. Have a great Sunday!
ReplyDeleteThank you Denise! I hope you had a lovely Sunday as well!
DeleteStellar's are very interesting jays - the "pretty crows", our family calls them. Intelligent, curious, lively, noisy, and such a beautiful colour, eh?! Very nice photo, Jana. (I went back to look at my own write-up of my trip to Bryce Canyon - sigh - such a lovely trip).
ReplyDeleteHaha! The "pretty crows." That's great! Thank you for your kind comments Celia!
DeleteI guess he (she?) knows how gorgeous he is! I've never seen one of these before.
ReplyDeleteHe really is a pretty bird, isn't he? Thanks for stopping by!
