A Single Daisy

During our visit to the Central Utah Gardens in July of 2013, I saw this single daisy all alone growing in some kind of ground cover.

Of course I had to take a picture of it. I'm not sure how this daisy happened to end up all by itself inside this ground cover, but there it was.

There were other daisies growing in these gardens, as you can see from the photo below.

I wish I had taken a photo of this single daisy from further away, so you could see how all alone it really was. Unfortunately, the photo below is the only photo that I have showing it from any distance at all. Even in this photo though, you can see that the daisy really was completely surrounded by this ground cover.

I think it's great that the gardeners left the daisy growing there in this sea of green ground cover sprinkled with small pink flowers. It seemed to be doing very well and held its own among those not of its kind. In fact, it appeared to be thriving.

Daydream Coneflower

One of the flowers we saw during our visit to the Central Utah Gardens in July of 2013 was this lovely Daydream Coneflower.

Here's a photo of the Coneflower plant with the name tag at the bottom. See the flower near the top right side of the photo, right in front of a blue name tag? That's the flower I photographed for the photo above.

Bright Pink Hydrangea

Bright Pink Hydrangea

I love the delicate beauty of hydrangeas. Each large flower is in reality a cluster of lovely little flowers.

A Pink Coneflower at Temple Square

While we were vacationing in Utah recently, we went to Temple Square in Salt Lake City. It's such a beautiful and peaceful place. And the gardens there are absolutely gorgeous.

As we were walking around Temple Square, I was taking photos (of course!), and took a picture of this lovely pink coneflower.

The gardens at Temple Square, which are redesigned every six months, include 250 flower beds. Did you know that
free one-hour garden tours are given from May through September at Temple Square?

Here are a couple of photos of just a few of these beautiful flower beds.

My hubby was taking photos too. It's a lovely place and I hope that the next time you are in Salt Lake City, you will stop by and visit Temple Square.

Colorful Alliums at Central Utah Gardens

Our family recently returned from a vacation in Utah. While we were there, we kept driving past these colorful round flowers pictured in the photo below. I was intrigued and really wanted to stop and take some photos of these curious flowers.

Central Utah Gardens

Eventually, we had some time in our schedule to stop for photos. I thought these flowers were part of the landscaping in front of a business, but this place turned out to be the Central Utah Gardens. What a cool place! Needless to say, my hubby and I stayed there for quite a while taking pictures of the beautiful flowers in these gardens.

Here's a close-up view of these colorful flowers. The garden's caretaker told us these are actually spray-painted Alliums.

I'll be sharing more photos from these gardens in future posts.

A Miniature Pink Rose

A Miniature Pink Rose

We have several of these lovely miniature pink rose bushes around our home.  They are quite the prolific little bloomers.  I especially love the color combination of these roses – beautiful creamy white petals edged with pink.
