A Lovely Yellow Daffodil

Yellow Daffodil

I love yellow flowers. I really do. They provide such cheer in a garden. It's fun to look out of our kitchen window and see the sunny yellow blossoms brightening up the winter landscape.

My daffodils have been blooming in our garden for some time now. Sadly, their once pretty blooms are now starting to fade and wilt.

But, I went out with our camera last week to try and capture the beauty of the daffodils in our garden before it was too late. This is one of the pictures I took that day.

Yosemite Falls ~ Yosemite National Park

As promised in a previous post, I am sharing photos of one of the waterfalls we saw during our visit to Yosemite National Park in August of 2011.

The waterfalls were still full of water, which according to the
National Park Service website is not always the case in August. In fact, in August, the waterfalls can have only a trickle of water or they can be completely dry. So, we were in for a treat when we visited that day.

Today, I'm sharing photos of Yosemite Falls.

Yosemite Falls is made up of three waterfalls – Upper Yosemite Fall, the middle cascades, and Lower Yosemite Fall. We walked along the one-mile loop trail toward the base of the Lower Yosemite Fall.

Here are a few photos along our way to Yosemite Falls.

This first one is a stream we crossed along the trail.

This is a photo of my husband and one of our sons on the bridge that crossed the stream in the photo above.

Here we are at Lower Yosemite Fall.

See all of those people down at the base of Lower Yosemite Fall?

We visited other waterfalls during our visit. I'll share photos of those in future posts.

A View of Leffingwell Landing

Leffingwell Landing - Cambria, California

Have you ever been to Leffingwell Landing? You can see it in this photo jutting out beyond that cove at Moonstone Beach in Cambria, California.

It's a wonderful place to stop and share a picnic lunch on one of the picnic tables.

Here's a zoomed in view of Leffingwell Landing. Can you see the picnic tables? There's a parking lot and bathrooms there as well. Our family has stopped at Leffingwell Landing to eat our own picnic lunch many times in the past.

After enjoying a picnic lunch at Leffingwell Landing, it's fun to take a stroll along the boardwalk at Moonstone Beach and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Half Dome ~ Framed By Trees

Half Dome - Yosemite National Park

I took this picture of iconic Half Dome in Yosemite National Park when we visited in August of 2011. Our family hadn't been to Yosemite for many years before this trip. It was wonderful to see the natural beauty of this magnificent park.

Even though it was well into summer, the waterfalls still had water in them. And not just a trickle either, which according to the National Park Service website, is often the case in August. The falls were beautiful! I will share some of photos of the falls in future posts.

Thanks for stopping by!
