About Jana's Place

Welcome to Jana's Place!

What started as a photo blog has now become my personal blog. I really wanted to expand the focus of my photo blog and not be restricted to just sharing my photos. That's why "Jana's Photo Journal" became "Jana's Place."

This blog is a place to share my photos, my faith, recipes, family updates, and anything else I find interesting.

Now, here's a bit about myself.

I'm a wife, mom and grandma. My husband and I have five wonderful children, an awesome son-in-law, three amazing daughters-in-law, and an adorable grandson. I'm also a genealogist and family historian and started researching my family history in 1996.

Besides family history research and blogging, I enjoy reading, singing, baking, watching classic movies/musicals and spending time with my family.

I'm the author of two other blogs and a website - Jana's Genealogy and Family History Blog, Grandpa's Postcards, and Jana's Genealogy and Social Media Hub . I hope you will check them out.

Jana's Genealogy and Family History Blog is my genealogy blog and Grandpa's Postcards is my vintage postcard blog. My grandparents, who immigrated from Brazil in 1952, collected postcards as they traveled. I'm sharing their vintage postcard collection in my Grandpa's Postcards blog.

I'm also very much into social media and can be found on various social media sites including Twitter, Google+, Pinterest, and Instagram. You can follow me at these sites by clicking on the icons on the right side of this blog.
