Plexus no. 29 at the BYU Museum of Art

From July 28-31, 2015, I attended the BYU Conference on Family History & Genealogy as an official conference blogger. The conference ended on Friday, July 31 in the afternoon.

BYU has some amazing museums on campus. I took advantage of the opportunity to visit some of these museums on Friday afternoon and Saturday before I left for home. One of the museums my family members and I visited was the BYU Museum of Art.

Upon entering the museum, visitors are greeted with a spectacular work of art called Plexus no. 29 by Gabriel Dawe.

I took photos of this stunning art piece with both my camera and smartphone. But, these pictures don't do it justice. It's something that must be seen in person.

Here are some of the photos from my visit.

This amazing art piece is made using about 80 miles of Guttermann thread. To learn more about it and to see additional photos, click HERE.

There are also two wonderful videos about this art piece that I've included in this post.

The first video is called "Plexus No. 29: MOA Thread Sculpture Brings Energy, Color to Atrium." In this video the artist, Mr. Dawe, talks about his art piece.

The second video is a time-lapse video showing the installation of Plexus no. 29.

I'll share more photos from my visits to the other BYU museums in future posts.

Thanks for stopping by!
